Chinese automaker Zeekr has made a move that will shake up the balance of power in the luxury SUV segment. The company has officially launched its new flagship model, the 9X. The brand, previously known exclusively for its electric vehicles, is now launching its first plug-in hybrid vehicle, a model poised to make a splash in the global market.

The Zeekr 9X, a luxury SUV, boasts impressive dimensions. The vehicle measures 5,239 mm in length and has a 3,169 mm wheelbase. Its price tag starts at 465,900 yuan (approximately $65,440) in China and goes up to 599,900 yuan (approximately $84,260) for the top-of-the-line model. It was announced that more than 10,000 firm orders were received in the first 13 minutes following the start of sales.

The most powerful version features a hybrid system combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with three electric motors. The combined power of this system reaches an incredible 1,381 horsepower. This massive SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h.

The top-of-the-line Zeekr 9X can travel 355 km in pure electric mode with its 70 kWh battery. With the hybrid system, the total range extends to 1,165 km. The mid-range trim level, the vehicle’s longest-range configuration, boasts a range of 1,250 km thanks to the 898 hp dual-motor system and optional 70 kWh battery.

The vehicle features dual-chamber air suspension, adaptive damping control, and an active cornering stability system to enhance ride comfort and handling. The top-of-the-line package includes the G-Pilot H9, an advanced driver assistance assistant powered by the Nvidia Drive Thor chip.

The interior offers a truly luxurious living space. Up front, a large multimedia panel featuring a 13-inch oval instrument cluster and two 16-inch screens stands out. A 47-inch augmented reality head-up display is also located in front of the driver.

Numerous body-integrated sensors enable advanced driving assistance systems, including Level 3 Autopilot. However, it’s important to note that Level 3 autonomous driving is not yet legal in China, with Level 2 being the only option.

The luxury SUV’s interior features a 2+2+2 seating layout. The second-row seats offer maximum comfort with their “zero gravity” design. Ultra-luxury features include a wireless charging pad, a 17-inch screen that retracts from the roof for rear passengers, and a refrigerator. The vehicle’s trunk capacity is 470 liters, expanding to 2,148 liters when the first and second row seats are folded.
